School Age Therapy

The Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapist at the CDC provide consultation services to children, families and their school teams within the school district.  The OT’s and PT may continue to see children of school age who:

  • Require short-term intervention after injury and/or surgery
  • Use specialized equipment (i.e. braces, wheelchairs, walkers)
  • Have printing and fine motor difficulties
  • Have difficulty keeping up with peers on the playground or in the gym

How Referrals are made:

  • Parent’s, school staff or other medical personnel can request for Occupational and Physiotherapy services for the child
  • The child’s Teacher makes the referral to the CDC when support is needed
